Can you operate a mini crawler crane at night?

Back to the mailbag we go for another good question. Now that we're entering peak construction season, project workers will be looking forward to squeezing every bit out of the good-weathered days as possible. This brings the following question into light.

"Can you operate a mini crawler crane at night?"

The answer: like with any equipment, you can typically work with the Spydercrane at night so long as you have a safe, well-lit environment.

It's typically not anything different from any other work situation.

Like all light-at-night situations, it will depend on the work environment, work conditions, and the condition of the cranes. If you are well-lit from where the crane starts its lift, to where it finishes, to where it is stored, then you'll be in decent shape.

In addition to the light, you'll want to consider the following when working at night.

We'll also point out that you'll want to make sure you have enough energy / fuel in the Spydercrane. If the crane is pulling a double-shift, then you'll want to make sure there's enough energy in the machine. Most batteries in the industry can't pull more than a single shift on one charge. So, you'll want to plan for the inclusion of a second battery. If the Spydercrane is gas-powered, then you'll want to make sure it's gassed up and ready to go for the evening.
