Great Lakes Lifting Solutions Unveils Machine Maintenance Solutions

Back in February, Great Lakes Lifting Solutions unveiled its plan to offer a new maintenance program, and the program has now officially kicked off for all SmartLift® and Wood's Powr-Grip® models.

As frequent users of SmartLift® and Wood's Powr-Grip® know, it’s crucial to check machines in a preventive manner to avoid any downtime on a job. While you can do some steps yourself (see our video “How to Perform Daily Inspection on SmartLift”), most customers prefer to focus on the job, and not the technical and mechanical maintenance. That’s why Great Lakes launched its maintenance program.

First, the new program includes Great Lakes technicians making rounds throughout all territories twice per year, saving travel and time for clients. This can address current needs or serve as preventive maintenance on machines. Contact Great Lakes to find out when we are coming to your area.

Second, Great Lakes has set up a straightforward process for routine maintenance or repairs.

SmartLift® Maintenance and Repairs

Great Lakes Lifting Solutions offers OSHA-recommended annual inspections. There is a flat $650 base fee. Great Lakes does a 75-point inspection that checks the functionality, inspects cups and batteries, confirms welds are good, and the vacuum system holds.

Great Lakes stocks all SmartLift® parts and has a very large inventory in both their Illinois and Texas locations.

Repairs are made almost the same day and most of the time within 3 business days. Any needed repairs will be quoted and are in addition to the initial base fee.

SmartLift® models covered by the Great Lakes Lifting Solutions Maintenance program:

  • 1008 Outdoor
  • 608 Outdoor HL
  • 408 Outdoor HL
  • 400 Sky Lifter
  • 580 Indoor
  • 380 Indoor

Wood's Powr-Grip® Maintenance and Repairs

Great Lakes Lifting Solutions does inspections and repairs for Wood's Powr-Grip® machines. Cups are recommended to be replaced every 2 years according to Wood's Powr-Grip®. There is a flat fee for inspections, which cover lifters and related parts, vacuum leaks, and more.

Wood's Powr-Grip® parts are hard to find, but Great Lakes stocks most parts and has a large inventory in both their Illinois and Texas locations.

When a Wood's Powr-Grip® arrives, Great Lakes inspects it within 48 hours, figures out what’s wrong, and provides a report. If parts are in stock, it can be repaired within seven days. If parts need to be ordered, it can take 6-8 weeks. Any needed repairs will be quoted and are in addition to the initial base fee.

Wood's Powr-Grip® models covered by the Great Lakes Lifting Solutions Maintenance program:

  • P1 Lifter
  • MRT4 Lifter
  • MRTALPCH6

For both SmartLift® and Wood's Powr-Grip®, Great Lakes can guide you in transporting your machines to their location. Typically UPS Freight is the best option.
